| Ok, lame joke... sorry. First off I hope you guys up here in the northeast are weathering the storm safely. I'm here in Connecticut getting pounded --14" inches so far drifting up to 3 feet-- but there's no better time to be working on the car... in a heated garage of course.
So I've confirmed that I've got a VTC problem and created a decent video on what it sounds like and what steps to take to confirm it. Check out my video below and post if you agree with my conclusions. OverZealous Video of VTC Troubles and how to diagnose it (linky) For those wondering how I'm running the car in the garage without the radiator. Here's my trick: two garden hoses, some PVC, and necessary connectors. Not a great idea to be running straight water, I know, but a means to diagnosing this problem low cost.
The inlet pipe is connected to the sink in the basement where the nozzle and valves are a means of adjusting the pressure and flow to ensure the car maintains temps.
I still have to run with the garage door open cause I have no means of getting the exhaust out otherwise. Let me know what you guys think of the VTC video.
